HairDos: How to Do Quick Styles : For the Busy Girl

We all need those hairstyles we can do in five minutes flat and run out the door. Some of us need those every single day. And its so easy to fall into a "hair rut" and do the exact same thing (or nothing) every time.
Well never fear! Ideas are here! I PROMISE these styles are quick and easy. They are easy to fancy up but perfect for every day. I want to make a video on some of them but I have to convince my hubby to help me with that one, so we'll see!

--THE BASICS--

Lets start with my favorite. The Baby Side Braid.
Now this version is the messy, quick, beachy version. Its so quick its crazy. Take a small section of hair right where your bangs are and start braiding it. You can add more hair as you go or just braid the hair you grab. You can take a smaller amount to make a more precise braid or a larger amount to make a bigger one. There's just so many different ways this can be done.

The Poof

This is a nice big poof, take a larger or smaller amount of hair according to what look you're going for. For this one I took a section of hair starting at the arch of each eyebrow, pulled it back and then kinda "pushed" it forward and pinned. A video on this look is coming so I can show you exactly how its done.

From the top. See how the bobby pins are crisscrossed in the back? More on that to come.

The Twist

The easiest of the three, take a small section of your hair in the front and twist it as you pull it back. Criss cross the bobby pins over eachother to pin and you can either pull some hair over the pins or let them show.

This is what I mean by criss crossing pins:

See how these are kinda "on top" of eachother? you want them to look more like this:

They will hold MUCH better this way.

 --VARIATIONS --

Now take any of these and add a ponytail, bun or braid. OR double them up, do a double side braid or double twist (I wouldn't suggest doing a double poof unless you're Miley Cyrus).  Not to mention you can make each style larger or smaller.

Example- Poof into side braid:
Double Twist:

Extra Baby Twist (using a smaller amount of hair)

Using the basics and then adding on the variations, that's a TON of styles right there. I started counting but then it got really confusing and I lost track. So lets just say there are plenty.

ALSO depending if your wear your hair curly or straight these styles will be completely new. In the pictures I had just let my hair air dry. That's one of the reasons I love these styles is because there's no heat needed!

Remember to ALWAYS finish of the style with hairspray (it won't stay otherwise) and don't be afraid to use a bunch of bobby pins! I have a ridiculous amount of hair so I have to use an insane amount but I really do think one of the biggest problems people have is that their styles don't stay so they just don't do them- add more bobby pins and hairspray and you've got a style that will stay.

Send me a picture if you try any of these styles! And keep an eye out for a more detailed post about the baby braids as well as a video on the other two styles.
